Former employee of city parks department charged with theft
Source: The Sun, Yuma, Ariz.迷你倉Sept. 05--A criminal complaint was filed Wednesday in Yuma Justice Court against a former employee of the Parks and Recreation Department who allegedly stole money from deposits for the city's golf courses.Erica Cibrian, 34, who was appearing in court on a summons, was informed by Justice of the Peace pro tem Yolonda Torok during a very brief hearing that the Yuma County Attorney's Office had reviewed the allegations against her and that she was being charged with one felony count of theft.In addition to appointing the Yuma County Public Defender's Office to represent Cibrian, the judge also scheduled her next court date -- a preliminary hearing for 4 p.m. She also informed Cibrian that since she had responded to the summons she would remain out of custody on her own recognizance.In July, an investigation was initiated in reference to possible felony theft by Cibrian, 文件倉ho was employed as an administrative assistant with the city's Parks and Recreation Department at the time of the alleged offense.While in that position, Cibrian was responsible for processing deposits for Desert Hills Golf Course and Arroyo Dunes, but allegedly failed to deposit portions of the money and kept it for personal use.The estimated loss is approximately $8,300.
