Tolo smash injures 27

At least 27 people were injured in a collision involving two KMB buses and a seven-seater vehicle in Tai Po.self storage Four male bus passengers and 21 females, aged 17 to 85, and the two bus drivers were slightly injured and admitted to hospital. One man and 16 women were still in hospital last night. The wife of the driver of the people carrier was also injured. The three-vehicle accident happened on the Tolo Highway near Kwong Fuk Estate at around 11.56am yesterday. At the time of the accident the driver of the people carrier, surnamed Lam, 47, was heading for Fan Ling with his wife and daughter. Both his vehicle and a KMB double decker, 74X, following it slowed on approaching a lane of the highway tha迷你倉 was under construction. But the driver of a second KMB double decker, 75X, surnamed Cheung, 58, failed to stop and rammed the 74X bus, which in turn hit the seven-seater. Passengers who suffered bruises or sprained limbs, were admitted to Prince of Wales Hospital, Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital and North District Hospital. The driver of the 74X, surnamed Lam, 54, injured his neck, and Cheung hurt his head and legs. Senior station officer Suen Yat-lun said it was a challenge to treat so many injured people in such a short period of time.
