Bryan Perez won the boys race with a time of 18 minutes, 38 seconds, and Jose Mendoza (19:03) came in second. In the girls race, Stevie Gaskell (21:26) won and Franchesca Zapeda (26:01) finished second.Barstow's Geng-Wei Lee (19:32) and Evelin Mora (27:46) finished third respectively in the boys and girls races.Hesperia next competes on Sept. 10 at Alta Loma's Midweek Madness, and Barstow runs at the Desert Cross Country Challenge on Sept. 14 at Horseman's Park in Apple Valley.BOYSHesperia 24, Barstow 31Barstow3.
