Then singer Alecia "Mixi" Demner opens her mouth and wails about ex-boyfriends and personal experiences and you know you're listening to something great.Her powerful vocals give life to her meaningful lyrics about the ups and downs of life and love, which most people can relate to."A lot of ex-boyfriends and mean people are in my songs," Demner said during a phone interview while the band was driving from South Dakota to Minnesota for a recent show. Demner also writes about "ways of life" and "how to be a better person and not try to kill yourself motivational songs."In addition to her singing and songwriting, Demner has been named one of Revolver magazine's hottest chicks in hard rock and metal two years in a row, first in 2011 and then in 2012.Demner has some competition from her bandmate, guitarist Grant Webb. Webb said he has received some votes to be in the running for hottest chick and hopes this year he'll snag the title.Joking aside, Demnermini storagesaid she is thankful for the exposure and attention the accolade has given the band.The band hopes to release its album "Skeleton Key" soon."It should be out in the fall, hopefully," Demner said. "We're pretty much done with it.
